Leeds United boss Daniel Farke has delivered his verdict on Burnley's chances of promotion to the Premier League this season.

Speaking ahead of Leeds' clash with Burnley on Sunday, Farke said that the Clarets remain the favourites for promotion despite their recent poor form.

"Burnley are still the favourites for promotion," said Farke. "They have a big squad, a lot of experience and a good manager. They are still the team to beat."

Burnley are currently third in the Championship table, three points behind leaders Sheffield United and two points behind second-placed Middlesbrough.

However, the Clarets have won just one of their last five matches and have drawn their last two games.

Leeds, meanwhile, are sixth in the table, six points behind Burnley.

Farke's comments suggest that he believes Burnley are still the team to beat in the Championship.

However, the German coach will be hoping that his Leeds side can close the gap on the Clarets when the two teams meet at Elland Road on Sunday.
