Ben McLemore Arrested and Faces Sex Crime Charges
Former NBA Guard Accused of Sexual Assault

WEB Ben Edward McLemore III, born February 11, 1993, is facing multiple sex crime charges stemming from allegations that he sexually assaulted a woman in 2021.
McLemore, a shooting guard and small forward who previously played for the Kansas Jayhawks, Sacramento Kings, and Portland Trail Blazers, was arrested in Oregon on Wednesday, August 9.
According to ESPN's Baxter Holmes, the charges against McLemore include first-degree sexual abuse and third-degree sexual abuse. The alleged assault occurred while McLemore was playing for the Trail Blazers.
McLemore was the No. 7 overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft. He played collegiately at the University of Kansas and was a member of the USA Basketball team that won a gold medal at the 2013 FIBA Americas U19 Championship.
McLemore has not yet entered a plea to the charges. He is scheduled to appear in court on August 15.
